A self-taught artist and movement aficionado who is in it to move people into “Aybrid Movement”: the intersection where artistry, authenticity, and athleticism collide and tune together. Sinbadinho is artistic director of award-winning dance company Gadfly. Dance has brought him to perform anywhere from Reppin Montreal, Toronto, and El Salvador, Los Angeles, China, Germany, to across Canada. His visceral creativity has brought the likes of Luminato Festival, Harbourfront Centre, Decidedly Jazz Danceworks, Coleman Lemieux and Compagnie, School of Toronto Dance Theatre, Ryerson University, Nike, Canada Goose and United Way to seek his choreographic works. It has brought him award accolades such as Dora Mavor Moore, Manifesto and Soul Pepper. Actor and Performer credits under his belt include movies Resident Evil Retribution, Camp Rock 2, American Gods TV series, Ariana Grande, Kiesza, Much Music Video Awards. He is curator of TUDS Urban Dance Festival, creative consultant in the public, private sectors and active volunteer for various dance and non-profit organizations. His side-obsessions are Japan, his students, movement as a crucial lifestyle, and spreading the Gadfly state of mind: have a voice, question the rules of the game, contribute.
