Advanced Tap

In this Tap class, we’ll be focusing on building and expanding tools which help us to keep time without rushing. We want to be able to catch ourselves when we’re no longer in the pocket of the music, then be able to adjust and reconnect, musically. While we’ll push to tidy up our technique and foundation, we’ll be paying close attention to the importance of musicality and what it means in context with the music. We’ll be very clear on how to count music like a musician would, so that we can follow along and stay connected. If we have time, we will also take our more advanced steps and see how we can use them to create interesting rhythms, instead of having fancy feet for the sake of fancy feet.
