Dance Educators have the joy of providing a movement vocabulary for their students so that they can communicate their thoughts, ideas and feelings through movement. This workshop will provide teachers with a method of using Creative Action Words, based on Laban’s principles of movement, to create their own compositions. This method will also assist student choreographers as they create dances with a purpose. “Positive Voice”, a program for urban Indigenous women, will stand as the stimulus for creating dances on a theme.‍
